Daily Post: Stroke of Midnight

Daily Prompt:
Where were you last night when 2012 turned into 2013? Is that where you’d wanted to be?

ParisMy keyword for New Year’s Eve is “convenience.” I no longer stay up or out late. I don’t revel with thousands of drunks in Times Square. When 2012 turned into 2013, in my timezone, I was asleep. I had already celebrated with the Parisians. What am I talking about? Well, who says you have to ring in the new year where you live? I live in GMT -5 hours (EST – Eastern Standard Time). Paris is GMT +1 hour (CET – Central European Time). So, by “celebrating with the Parisians,” I can celebrate the New Year at 6:00pm my time… much more convenient. That’s why my New Year’s Eve keyword in “convenience.” Vive la France!
